As part of the European Civic Forum campaign (a European solidarity network that brings together more than 100 associations/NGOs) “#MEGA – Make Europe Great for All / Faire l’Europe pour tous“, the European Education Association (AEDE-France) organised, from 2 September to 9 November, the 2019 edition of the “Concours #MEGA“.
Youth get involved for Europe
The theme of the competition was: “#MEGA 2020: Youth is committed to the Europe of the citizens“, and was addressed to schools and European leisure associations or clubs.
The candidates, aged 8 to 18, aimed to produce a short video illustrating the positive values promoted by Europe. FEDE Chairwoman Claude Vivier Le Got was this year a member of the jury.
The FEDE was particularly impressed by the production of the students of Liceul Teoretic International de Informatica. Winners in their age category, these students brilliantly highlighted the values of peace, equality, and respect. Their production perfectly symbolizes the motto of the European Union: “In varietate concordia” (“United in diversity”).
The prizes awarded to the learners will be presented at an official ceremony on 19 December at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. The FEDE, which will take part in this event, warmly welcomes the AEDE for this initiative, which participates to strengthen young Europeans‘ attachment to the institutions that unite them and to the values they share.
