General Assembly 2020
FEDE 2020 General Assembly
Dubrovnik: 1-3 April 2020
SAVE THE DATE
Dobro dochli* to Dubrovnik, often referred to as the Pearl of the Adriatic or the Croatian MontSaint-Michel.
Perhaps you have already wandered its mediaeval streets. Or perhaps the turquoise water of the Adriatic stirs memories of the series Game of Thrones.
Famous for its natural beauty, the city of Dubrovnik is one of the Mediterranean’s major tourist stops and has been included in the UNESCO’s list of world heritage sites since 1979. A Baroque city, Dubrovnik was rebuilt following an earthquake in 1667. Its historical sites are stunning: the Rector’s Palace, the Sponza Palace, the Stradun, the Orlando Column, plus numerous churches and monasteries.
Dubrovnik is a wonderful city to explore: wander along the city walls, take a break in the shade of the orange trees, stroll in the port or wander around the Placa – an old channel that became the main street of the city in the ninth century. Or why not take the cable car and admire the red roofs of the beautiful mediaeval city?
Dear colleagues and friends,
It is with great pleasure that I invite you to attend the 2020 FEDE General Assembly, to be held in Dubrovnik (Croatia) from Wednesday 1 to Friday 3 April 2020. In this beautiful city – the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’, steeped in centuries of history and heritage – our annual event will be taking on a new format.
Sharing professional experience: member institutions will be organising and leading thematic workshops. We encourage you to take the floor and share your experience on, for example, teaching in English, nurturing partnerships or developing an alumni network.
At your request we will once again be holding the Academic Dating event, which has been highly successful at previous GAs. There will also be special networking opportunities during our dinners together, the aim being to encourage synergy and bilateral agreements between partner institutions. The better we know one another the better we can help one another!
Work and tourism are not mutually exclusive! Our afternoons and evenings will be dedicated to culture and good company in the beautiful city of Dubrovnik.
My dear colleagues,
I warmly encourage you all to join us at the GA, which is the key event in the FEDE calendar.
I look forward to seeing you in Dubrovnik!
Claude Vivier Le Got, FEDE Chairwoman
