FEDEMAG 9
Spring 2021

Dear members, Ever more lively, ever more substantiated and ever more informative: the FEDEMAG 9 testifies to the blossoming of the FEDE!

We have obtained further recognition of the quality of the FEDE’s teaching guidelines through the registration of new RNCP qualifications in February 2021. The veritable backbone of the FEDE – its education department – provides you with information on its latest teaching innovations, our newly accredited or approved degrees, and the signing by our doctoral school – the guardian of our progress-based approach – of a cooperation agreement with the Spanish SEK University in Madrid.

As for our institutional relations, we fill you in on the latest work of relevant international organisations, providing key information for the management of your institutions. You will also find reflections on how the COVID-19 crisis has impacted higher education.

Your feedback, as educational professionals, is food for thought for the entire FEDE network and helps cultivate a spirit of mutual help and cooperation.
As we have seen, during the pandemic the FEDE network has fought effectively against isolation and has been able to identify numerous opportunities.

We are looking forward to seeing you – without masks! – in a friendly setting soon. In the meantime, happy reading!

FEDEMAG 8
Winter 2020

We have already said a great deal about the pandemic and have paid tribute to the solidarity between our member institutions, which has made it possible to keep our students learning and to go ahead with our examinations. In this issue you will notice that the lockdowns have not kept us from taking decisionsbeing innovative and forging ahead with our work. The FEDE’s network of institutions has itself sped up the changes that were underway and taken the initiative in suggesting new practices.

My thoughts go to those members of our network that are closing 2020 in difficult circumstances and that face uncertainties. I would like to assure them of our solidarityWe will be standing by them in 2021. I’ll finish with a few of our recent achievements: new accredited and approved qualifications, new member institutions, the advancement of our Language Certificate and the marvellous recognition of the FEDE’s expertise through the granting of official UNESCO partner status!

On behalf of everyone on our team, let me send you our more personal best wishes – without a face mask and with a warm embraceWe hope very much that in 2021 we will be able to meet in person in Dubrovnik for a warm hearted and lively GA.

FEDEMAG 7
Summer 2020

While everybody else seems to be talking of their upcoming holidays, it seems there will be no rest for FEDE institutions, which are working tirelessly to deal with the backlog caused by the pandemic and to prepare, in spite of ongoing uncertainties, for the beginning of the academic year in September. The FEDE’s teams will not be letting up either and will be on hand to provide assistance throughout the summer.

This seventh issue of the FEDEMAG provides an overview of careers in IT and information on a new quality label made available in response to demand by a large number of our institutions: FEDE approval of your degrees and other qualifications. In this seventh issue I also wished to share with you a little more information than usual on my work as the FEDE’s representative at the Council of Europe. Indeed, a major issue addressed by the Council in recent months is important to us all: post-COVID-19 education.
Let’s make the most of the summer to grab a few moments of relaxation – it has certainly been in short supply over the past few months…

FEDEMAG 6
Spring 2020

The pandemic has shown that unity and solidarity are truly intrinsic to the educational sector. Our students and institutions have been able to count on the FEDE’s ‘federating’ spirit during this time. Thanks to our shared efforts as a federationlearning and testing have gone ahead in spite of the very difficult circumstances

The FEDEMAG 6 has been put together during the lockdown and in spite of numerous obstacles. I would like to pay tribute to the FEDE team for its hard work and unfailing commitment during this period

The pandemic has not weakened us; on the contrary it has made us stronger, more efficient and more determined than ever to pursue educational innovation, institutional relations and the growth of our network.

FEDEMAG 5
Winter 2020

We hope that in this very special period linked to the Covid-19 crisis, you, your teams and your students are healthy.

In this new edition of FEDEMAG, you will find a focus from the teaching department on the role and challenges of the human resources professions, the ongoing and intense news of our institutional activities or the “private life” of the FEDE with, for example, interviews of the members of our network.

FEDEMAG 4
Autumn 2019

This fourth edition of the FEDEMAG turns the spotlights on the FEDE’s institutional activities.

Our Federation’s work with international organisations helps consolidate our reputation as an innovative  educational expert. Institutional networking brings on board ever more advocates for the FEDE and opens up new and exciting opportunities, enhancing our work in every sphere and ultimately benefitting all of our member institutions.

Examples are our partnership with the GRECO and our official  position  statement on student poverty, published a year ago now, which sounded the alarm on this increasingly pressing issue.

Bursting with information, this fourth issue of the FEDEMAG closes the magazine’s fi rst year of publication with aplomb.

FEDEMAG 3
Summer 2019

‘Education’ and ‘communication’ are the two watchwords of our second FEDEMAG!

‘Education’ is our shared motivation and passion. The official recognition of the FEDE’s degrees and professional certificates is one of my key priorities, and I would like to share with you my heartfelt pleasure at the latest six official validations we have secured. Among the newly recognised qualifications is the European Bachelor’s in Marketing (formerly DEESMA) – a degree whose official recognition we had sought for some time and are delighted to have obtained (page2). Developing curricula to meet the needs of our institutions, developing our course catalogue and identifying the needs of the ever-evolving job market – all of this constitutes, in my view, one of the FEDE’s chief missions. On page 5 you can see for yourselves how our course catalogue has blossomed into an offering of 140 degrees in 12 elite subject areas.

As for ‘communication’, much has been done to attract new students and to help your institutions grow and flourish: updates to our website’s ‘member’s area’ – our online communications platform (page 11), newly designed degree and professional qualification certificates (page 6), and the development of our new ‘degree information sheets’, specially designed for our institutions, with a space reserved for your logos (page 11). Happy reading! And with this issue I conclude my four-year mandate as your elected FEDE Chairwoman. On the 27, 28 and 29 March, our network will be meeting for its General Assembly in Malaga. During the GA we will elect new leaders who, in close and positive collaboration with our talented General Delegate Maxime Gioannini, will be responsible for the ongoing development of our Federation.
