Florian Cazenave is a rugby player who plays in the scrum-half position: his background has received wide press coverage since the beginning of 2017.

Here is a review of the unusual background of a FEDE graduate unlike any other!

2009 France Champion with Perpignan, Florian Cazenave was a boarder at the USAP training centre (Catalan rugby club boasting one of the most impressive track records in French championships) before signing up as a professional at the same club.
During this entire period he was enrolled at USAP Private School (a FEDE member school), an institute specialised in courses adapted to the career constraints of top-level sportsmen.

After studying a BTS Management of Commercial Units, Florian opted for the FEDE European Bachelor’s Degree in Entrepreneurship in order to prepare for his career “after his career”: taking over the family business.

He lost sight in his left eye in 2013 following an accident and was thereafter forbidden to play in France. Although deeply affected by this incident that ended a promising sports career, he completed his programme and obtained his diploma in 2014, then joined Reggio Emilia’s club with which he became Italy Champion last summer.

He very recently signed up at Brive, another historical French rugby club, which he will join next season following a decision by the new Chairman of the French Rugby Federation, Bernard Laporte, which now allows the use of special rugby spectacles in France.
This outcome, however, which is a very happy one for him, was preceded by his long fight to set foot again on the pitches of professional French rugby clubs. An example of courage and tenacity, both in terms of his educational success and his sports career.

USAP Private School, a FEDE member school, is an institute dedicated to training USAP players as well as other Catalan sportsmen.

Its unique quality? The school offers a framework of excellence and courses tailored to the needs of all top-level sportsmen who wish to combine passion, sporting ambition and a professional future.
